Process a Leave Request (with Approval) (PA-TIM-REC) The
Leave Request (with Approval)
workflow enables employees to enter a leave request in the Internet/intranet themselves. It could be a request for a vacation, for example, or a notification of illness.
The workflow is only ever used in conjunction with the
Leave Request
self-service application. We recommend you to use the application in the Web browser with the exception of the
HR administrator corrects errors
step. SAP recommends that you use the
Business Workplace
for this step.
The leave request is subject to an approval procedure, which involves the following persons:
Requester (employee)
Approver (such as the supervisor)
HR administrator (optional in case of error)
The approver can approve or reject the absence and can enter a note explaining the decision. The note is visible to all parties.
The HR administrator is automatically included in the procedure if the system cannot create the approved absence. The administrator can correct the error in the
Maintain Time Data
transaction (PA61).
Note
The leave request services offered by the system include the Cancel Leave Request workflow. Employees can use it to cancel an entire or partial absence and to delete leave requests and cancellations that have not yet been processed.
If you do not want to implement the approval step, you can use the Process Leave Request (Without Approval) workflow.
